Passenger Vehicle Causes Tractor-Trailer Rollover On I-283: PennDOT

A passenger vehicle caused a tractor-trailer to overturn on Interstate 283, Pennsylvania Department of Transportation spokesperson Fritzi Schreffler told Daily Voice on Friday, Sept. 27.

The rollover crash happened on I-283 North at Exit 2: PA 441 - Swatara at 2:07 p.m. according to Lancaster County Wide Communications and PennDOT's 511PA.

The shoulder closed around 2:44 p.m., according to 511PA. 

The crash involved a passenger, Schreffler tells us, explaining that that vehicle is believed to have caused the crash. 

HazMat crews from Manheim Township are clearing the scene for a fuel leak, according to LCWC. 

The trailer did not open in the crash. 

There is no word on any injuries as of 3:40 p.m. 

A lane restriction was put in place while crews remained on the scene. 

Delays continue on the roadway at the time of publishing.
